Lee W. Mercer

Responsibilities
Lee W. Mercer serves as a Senior Advisor for NexGen Capital Partners, LLC.
Education
Mr. Mercer has more than 40 years of private and public sector experience. Most recently, he served as President for the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies (NASBIC) from February 1996 through September 2008. During his tenure Mr. Mercer acted as principal liaison and lobbyist for the NASBIC to Congress and the executive branch. He authored all NASBIC position papers and Congressional testimony and secured legislative and regulation changes that resulted in the greatest dollar volume investment growth in the program’s history.
Prior to joining the NASBIC in 1996, Mr. Mercer held various positions in the United States Senate serving as Staff Director and Counsel to Senator Warren B. Rudman and in the United States Department of Commerce serving as Deputy Under Secretary in both the Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations. He also worked at Digital Equipment Corporation as Director of Export Administration and for several other small businesses.
Education
Mr. Mercer received his BA degree from Dartmouth College and JD and LLM degrees from the Boston University School of Law.
Civic and Professional Involvement
Mr. Mercer served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 through 1968.
All members of the Council of Senior Advisors serve pursuant to a senior advisor agreement with NexGen Capital Partners, LLC and do not have any decision making or executive authority or any fiduciary duties to the Company or any of its affiliates.
